/Work&Co_Posters
To celebrate Work & Co's 5-year anniversary, Spanish design studio Hey Studio was tasked with creating minimalist, modern posters for the occasion. These posters were printed and distributed around the company.
To expand on the celebratory nature of the occasion, and to symbolize the balance between design and technology that are pillars of Work & Co's work, we decided to create pure programmatic versions of the posters.
The result are three designs programmatically recreated in JavaScript using no external assets or resources. All graphics and animations are code driven, and perfectly replicate the original poster designs.
Originally, the intention was to have anyone "extend" the code provided, tweaking its elements and adding their own twists to the code. To get everyone from programmers to designers to product managers involved, the project was built in a way that uses no external dependencies and has no build workflow. It doesn't use webpack, Babel, Grunt, Gulp, or any of the tools normally used in modern JavaScript development.
This means that files can be edited in any text editor, and reloaded in the browser without the need for specialized tools, any complicated setup, or the use of the command line. In other words, it's much easier to play around with it.
Unfortunately, in the end, the programmatic posters were not publicly used. But the code remains and, overall, it is still a project I'm proud of.
