After working on Dew VR Sk.a.t.e. and Dew VR Snow, Firstborn was aiming high with their work on interactive 360" videos. When Patrón approached the company for a VR experience of their own, the decision was made to create a 360" experience that was a mix of drone-filmed 360" footage and computer-generated graphics.
The result was “The Art of Patrón”, an interactive visit of Patrón's Mexico hacienda through the eyes of the bee that represents the spirit of Patrón. From a technical standpoint, we worked on top of the existing VR platform created for previous projects. The difference in this case was that on top of creating the application for an interactive installation, and exporting MilkVR-ready videos, we also created an online, web-based player that would allow visitors to watch a video in 360" mode.
In that video player, they could use either their mouse to look around, or, when using a mobile device, just move around to look at different angles as if they were inside the experience (this last feature was implemented before YouTube had a 360" video player of their own).
The final experience was unveiled on Patrón's own events in Los Angeles and New York, in a very well put together installation that mimicked their own Hacienda. A great client all around, too.
